Eric Andersen

Co-President, Aon plc

Eric Andersen serves as Co-President of Aon plc, a leading global professional services firm providing a broad range of risk, retirement and health solutions. In this role, Eric oversees the Reinsurance Solutions and Retirement Solutions businesses, and assumes geographic leadership of EMEA and Latin America.

He also plays a key role as a member of Aon’s Global Executive Committee, which guides the operations of the firm, and he also co-leads Aon’s Operating Committee, with Co-President Michael O’Connor.

Eric most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of Aon Benfield, the world’s leading reinsurance intermediary and full-service capital advisor. Aon Benfield provides treaty and facultative brokerage service and advice, and provides investment banking, analytics, claims, and management consulting services and advice to insurance and reinsurance companies. In May 2018, Eric announced the start of a brand transition from Aon Benfield to Reinsurance Solutions.

Prior to this role, he served as Chief Executive Office of Aon Risk Solutions Americas, based in New York City. In this role, he was responsible for leading Aon’s largest geographic unit with 14,000 colleagues on teams in the United States, Canada, Bermuda and throughout Latin America.

Throughout his over 20-year career at Aon, Eric has served in a number of important leadership positions including Aon Risk Solutions U.S. retail field leader, Chief Executive Officer of Aon Global Americas’ global account segment, national co-Managing Director of Aon’s Financial Services Group, and Resident Managing Director of Aon in Southern California.

Eric first joined Aon in 1997 via the acquisition of Minet. Prior to that, Eric also worked in London for a period at Alexander Howden in London’s Devonshire Square.


Jon Colello 
President, North America, AXIS Re

Jon Colello was appointed President North America for AXIS Re in May 2018. In this capacity, he is responsible for AXIS Re’s underwriting platforms in Bermuda, Canada and the United States, and serves as a member of the Reinsurance Leadership Team. Previously, Mr. Colello served as President and Chief Underwriting Officer, US, for AXIS Re and was responsible for managing the US underwriting operation. Mr. Colello has held several leadership positions within AXIS Re since joining the company in 2004. He has nearly 20 years of (re)insurance experience, and also held roles at Odyssey Re and AXA Re. Mr. Colello received an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Vermont.

James Drinkwater

President, AmWINS Group

James C. Drinkwater is currently serving as our Group President and has served as President of our Brokerage division since April 2008. He formerly served as Chief Operating Officer of the division. Prior to joining AmWINS in 2005, James held executive positions with both Stewart Smith Group and Willis Group. He began his career in the London marketplace.


David Flandro

Global Head of Analytics, JLT Re

David Flandro is the Global Head of Analytics at JLT Re. In this role, David oversees Global Thought Leadership, as well as the Actuarial, Catastrophe Modelling and Strategic Advisory functions of the firm. David also works closely with and supports the JLT Capital Markets team. He previously led JLT Re’s Strategic Advisory team which is responsible for rating advisory, sector research, financial analysis and client strategy. Prior to joining JLT, David worked for Guy Carpenter where he was Global Head of Business Intelligence, and worked previously at Benfield as a member of the Industry Analysis & Research team.

Before entering the broking sector, David worked as an equity analyst at Merrill Lynch covering European insurance. He began his career in securities trading and investment management. David has been a regular presenter at various industry forums, andhas been frequently published on several topics in the reinsurance business. He is frequently involved in pitches, client relationships, and complex transactions.

David received his BA (hons) from BYU and holds an MBA in financial engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.


Emma Garner
EVP, CRC Insurance Services, Inc

Emma Garner is Executive Vice President and a member of CRC Group’s Senior Leadership Team, with a primary focus on difficult to place property risks. She’s a passionate leader dedicated to mentoring others and shaping a corporate culture that fosters lasting relationships with employees, partners, and clients.

Emma joined the insurance industry at the age of 19 when she was hired as the first female broker by Cooper Gay, a London-based brokerage firm. She placed U.S. catastrophe property reinsurance and wholesale business into the London market, and in 1996 she was offered the opportunity to move to Cooper Gay’s New York office for a 2-year assignment. Shortly after moving to New York, Cooper Gay opened a wholesale operation, and Emma’s move to New York became a permanent one. Her role evolved to include managing the wholesale business nationally while maintaining her own book of business. When Cooper Gay merged with Swett and Crawford in 2010, Emma joined Swett’s Senior Leadership Team and served as an integral force in driving the business forward. Since CRC purchased the company in 2016, her ability to keep the big picture in view, nurture vital relationships with carriers, and skill in reading the market, have continued to play a foundational role in the growth and stability of CRC’s portfolio.

While the business continues to grow and change, Emma never takes success for granted, and continues to plan for the future so that clients can continue to count on CRC’s capacity and capability to meet their needs. Mentoring and developing young people on the path to success is an important part of that long-term strategy. Emma is also committed to investing herself in others by empowering women to enter the industry and helping to develop female business colleagues.

Emma and Alf live in New York with their three children – Max, Charlie, and Grace. As a mother, Emma strives for a work/life balance that allows her to be fully present and available as her children grow. Outside the office, you’ll find her taking the kids to soccer or gymnastics practice, enjoying spin class, or conquering the flying trapeze.


Russell Johnston

CEO, QBE North America

Russell Johnston is the Chief Executive Officer of QBE North America, a $4.6 billion insurer that is a part of QBE, one of the largest global carriers. Since his arrival in 2016, he has been intensely focused on building QBE’s position in the market around its distinctive value as an Integrated Specialist Insurer.

For more than 30 years, Russ served in a wide range of leadership roles in the industry.  Prior to joining QBE, Russ was the President of AIG Casualty in the Americas, with responsibility for all U.S., Canada, Bermuda, and London-based U.S. Casualty underwriters (2011-2015). From 2012 to 2015 Russ was also on the board of Directors of the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI), the foremost authority on workers compensation in the US and was a board member of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation.  Russ is also currently the Board President for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Monmouth County, and organization focused on helping high risk youth.

Russ received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Syracuse University and started in the industry as an underwriter at Chubb.  He is married with four children and is a long-suffering NY Jets fan.


Doug May

EVP, Willis Re North America

Doug manages the business Segments for Willis Re North America. He started the Seattle office and currently serves on the North American Executive committee.

Doug's transactional experience includes managing large Property Catastrophe placements for companies with both West Coast and nationwide exposure. Through these placements, Doug has utilized both traditional and collateralized capacity, using both indemnity and index based loss triggers.

Prior to joining Willis Re in 2007, Doug spent 12 years at Guy Carpenter where he was a Managing Director and worked in both their New York and Seattle offices.

Doug has a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Willamette University, a Masters Degree in Public Affairs from Columbia University and an M.B.A. from Fordham University.

Michael Millette

Founder and Managing Partner, Hudson Structured Capital Management

Michael Millette is a Founder and Managing Partner of Hudson Structured, an alternative asset manager for reinsurance and transportation linked assets based in Connecticut and Bermuda.

Mr. Millette was at Goldman Sachs from 1994 to 2015. He was elected a Partner in 2006 and held a number of positions over the course of a 21-year career at the firm. Most recently, Mr. Millette was the Global Head of Structured Finance, Co-Head of the Structured Finance Capital Committee, and President of the Goldman Sachs Mortgage Corporation. Mr. Millette was the founding team member of both the Re/insurance structured finance and principal businesses. He was a team leader or key team member for over 150 transactions in the sector. He led distribution for the first 144A catastrophe bond in 1996. He also led teams that developed Goldman’s current businesses in Transport Finance, Intellectual Property Structured Finance, Private Placements and Project Finance, and spearheaded the development of the Principal Funding business in investment banking. He led the Structured Finance Capital Committee and sector teams in the rebuilding of the GS mortgage and consumer finance businesses following the financial crisis. He was a Member of the Bank Capital Committee, as well as the Client & Business Standards Committee for Investment Banking.

Mr. Millette began his career as an Analyst at Citibank and also previously worked as a Portfolio Manager at John Hancock Financial.

He graduated from Cornell University with a BA in History, Cum Laude, and also holds a Masters in Finance from Boston College, Carroll Graduate School of Management. Mr. Millette became a CFA in 1994.


François Morin
EVP, CFO & Treasurer, Arch Capital Group Ltd.

François Morin is Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of ACGL. From May 2015 to May 2018, Mr. Morin was Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer and Chief Actuary of ACGL. He joined ACGL in October 2011 as Chief Actuary and Deputy Chief Risk Officer. From January 1990 through September 2011, Mr. Morin served in various roles for Towers Watson & Co. and its predecessor firm Towers Perrin Forster & Crosby, including its actuarial division, Tillinghast. He holds a B.Sc. in Actuarial Science from Université Laval in Canada. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.


Michele Sansone

President, North America Property, AXA XL

As president of AXA XL’s North America property business, Michele directs AXA XL’s property underwriting activities, including General Property and Equipment Breakdown across the US, Canada and Bermuda. She also oversees AXA XL’s global network of risk engineers who provide on-site property risk analysis and support clients’ property loss prevention programs. She was promoted to this position in May 2014. Previously, she served as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) of the business and was responsible for establishing underwriting standards and protocols that helped AXA XL effectively and profitably address businesses’ most complex property risks. Michele joined AXA XL in October 2011 as Senior Vice President, Eastern Zone Executive and was responsible for managing property underwriting, risk engineering activities and broker relationships and successfully driving growth throughout AXA XL’s Eastern Zone, from Miami, Florida up through Maine.

With more than 30 years serving the global property market, Michele’s knowledge of managing large global property risks is unparalleled. Using this expertise, she has successfully built profitable books of global property business throughout her career, and has helped AXA XL grow its 100% Platinum book of business.

Michele started her career at AIG and Home Insurance Company, attending one of their underwriting trainee programs. Since then, she’s held numerous underwriting positions including progressively senior positions at Zurich, most recently managing the company’s US Eastern Property Division.

Michele also dedicates her time to numerous charitable activities. She currently serves on the Spencer Educational Foundation Board and has served on the March of Dimes Board since 2014, co-chairing their Gourmet Gala in 2014 & 2015. In addition, Michele has sponsored the Tom Joyce Scholarship Fund Golf Outing since 1998 with proceeds benefiting St. John’s School of Risk Management, Insurance & Actuarial Science since 2012.


Vincent Tizzio

President & CEO, Navigators Management Company

Vince Tizzio is president and chief executive officer of Navigators Management Company, the U.S. underwriting operation of Navigators, a specialty insurance holding company with operations in the United States, the United Kingdom, Continental Europe and Asia.  Mr. Tizzio brings more than 30 years of property and casualty insurance experience to Navigators. Since joining Navigators in 2012, he has enhanced the profitability of the company’s U.S. business and has led its growth—launching new products, leveraging technology to deliver more value and support to brokers and policyholders, and broadening Navigators’ local presence in major cities across the United States.

Mr. Tizzio joined Navigators from Zurich, where he was executive vice president of Zurich North America, leading the company’s commercial markets business, a $3 billion portfolio with more than 1,100 market-facing underwriting, claims and operations professionals throughout the U.S. and Canada.  In this role, he was responsible for creating a business unit to grow the services delivered to small- and medium-sized businesses, launched Select Brokers®, the organization's first program providing enhanced resources and solutions to the company’s most valued brokers, and further developed the company’s industry vertical expertise and services.  Zurich North America produced double-digit growth and significant profitability gains each year under his leadership. 

Mr. Tizzio also was with American International Group (AIG) for 16 years, during which time he held a number of underwriting and management positions.  During his tenure at AIG, he led the creation of two subsidiaries, developing capabilities in mergers and acquisitions insurance and small commercial insurance products and offerings that were industry-leading and pioneering for AIG at the time.

Mr. Tizzio received a B.A degree in finance and sociology from Adelphi University. Mr. Tizzio serves on the board of governors for Maguire Academy of Risk Management at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. He also serves as a board member of the Visiting Nurse Association, a provider of home-based medical and hospice care and the Hope Trust, a local charity that offers financial assistance to individuals and community projects, and is a longstanding board member of the Freedom House, an organization committed to helping people with addiction. Mr. Tizzio is the founder of Feed Belly Farm, an organization that helps provide food to people in need.


Gregory L. Williams

President and Chief Executive, Acrisure, LLC

Gregory L. Williams is an accomplished entrepreneur and business leader who has successfully founded and managed three companies throughout the course of his career. In May 2005, Greg co-founded Acrisure, LLC for the purpose of investing in independent insurance agencies around the globe. With a compounded annual growth rate of over 80% since inception, Acrisure is now among the ten largest insurance brokers in the world and the most profitable among its peers. He has led Acrisure since inception to now over $1.5 billion in revenue and developed a culture of collaboration and significant organic growth.

In 2016, Greg led a Management Buyout of Acrisure’s private equity investor in a $2.9 billion transaction. As a result, the company is now majority owned (over 83%) by the management team and its operating partners. The operating partners and management team also control the Board.

In addition, Greg has been a Board Advisor to a variety of companies, and from 1981 to 1990, Greg was a Vice President for Michigan National Corporation (MNC), a $19 billion bank holding company. As a senior executive at MNC, Greg managed the Commercial Sales and Services Group, was a member of the Corporate Marketing Committee and chaired the Corporate Operations Committee. Greg is married to Dawn and they have a daughter, Megan and son, Michael.


Greg Wolyniec
President & CEO, Ascot Insurance U.S.

Greg is President & CEO of Ascot Insurance U.S. He joined Ascot Group in 2017 as Head of Global Strategy and spearheaded the launch of Ascot Insurance U.S., the admitted and E&S platform of Ascot Group. He was subsequently appointed CEO of the business at launch in 2018. Prior to Ascot, Greg served as CEO of a technology start-up developing wearables and risk management solutions for industrial and construction workers. Throughout his career he has held a number of insurance strategy roles including spending seven years with AIG in corporate and commercial strategy and M&A positions. Greg is a member of Ascot’s Group Executive Management Committee and also sits on the Board of Ascot Reinsurance Company.
